Overview

You can add or remove payment methods for customers at any time. Multiple payment methods can be added to each Customer Account. Accounting Seed supports credit card and ACH payment methods.

The Stripe integration to Accounting Seed supports multi-currency credit card transaction processing. ACH transaction processing is limited to USD.

Add a Credit Card Payment Method on File

1. Navigate to Accounting Home > Setup > Master > Accounts.
2. Select a list view (other than the Recently Viewed list view).
3. On the list of Accounts page, click the account for which you want to update the payment method.
4. On the Account page, click Manage Stripe Payment Methods.
5. Select the Credit Card tab.
6. Under the Create New Payment Method section:
   1. If more than one Payment Processor exists, select the appropriate one from the Payment Processor drop-down list. If only one Payment Processor exists, it displays automatically.
   2. Enter the Card Holder Name and the credit or debit card number with expiration date.
7. Click Create Payment Method.

The credit card payment method is now ready to use on the Create Payment and Receive Payment (single and batch) screens.

Add an ACH Payment Method on File

1. Repeat steps 1 to 4 from Add a Credit Card Payment Method on File above.
2. Click Create ACH Payment Method. A Stripe-hosted window displays where you can securely enter your customer's account details.
3. On the Add Bank Account screen, the account holder's Email address and Full Name pre-populate from the Account's Billing Contact record. If the Account does not have a Billing Contact, these fields are blank.
4. Click Enter bank details manually to enter the account and routing number.
5. Click Submit.
6. On the Save Account with Link window, click Finish without saving.
7. On the next window, click Back to Accounting Seed, Inc.
8. Click Save Bank Account to create the payment method and return to Accounting Seed.

The payment method saves in an unverified state. To verify it, click the Verify Bank Account link for the newly added payment method.

9. Contact the customer to obtain the micro-deposit amounts.
10. Click the Verify Bank Account link for that payment method and enter the two amounts.

Stripe immediately confirms the deposited amounts are correct, and the payment method is set to Verified. The ACH payment method is now ready to use on the Create Payment and Receive Payment (single and batch) screens.

Set a Default Payment Method

1. Navigate to Accounting Home > Setup > Master > Accounts.
2. Select a list view (other than the Recently Viewed list view).
3. Click the account for which you want to set a default Payment Method.
4. Click Manage Stripe Payment Methods.
5. From the Manage Existing Payment Methods section, under the Action column, click Set as Default for the appropriate existing Payment Method.

6. Click OK. A checkmark displays in the Default column for the selected Payment Method.

Add a Payment Method using a Stripe ID

1. Navigate to Accounting Home > Setup > Master > Accounts.
2. Select a list view (other than the Recently Viewed list view).
3. Select an Account record to display.
4. Click Edit.
5. Scroll to the Payment Processor Customers related list and click New. The New Payment Processor Customer dialog box displays.

6. From the Payment Processor drop-down list, select a Payment Processor for this Account.
7. In the External Id field, enter the customer's Stripe identification number.
8. Click Save.
9. Click Create Payment to create the Payment Method record.

Update a Payment Method

The Payment Method sync between Accounting Seed and Stripe is one-directional, from Accounting Seed to Stripe. Updates made directly in Stripe's Dashboard do not reflect in Accounting Seed.

Option 1 (Best Practice): Replace a Payment Method Not Yet Updated in Stripe

1. Deactivate the current Payment Method in Accounting Seed. For steps, refer to Deactivate a Payment Method below.
2. Create a new Payment Method with the updated information. For steps, refer to Add a Credit Card Payment Method on File or Add an ACH Payment Method on File above.

Option 2: Update a Payment Method Already Updated in Stripe

1. Confirm you have both Accounting Seed Admin and Stripe Admin permissions.
2. From the App Launcher, find Payment Method. If it does not appear, navigate to Setup > Custom Tabs and add a tab for the Payment Method object.
3. Navigate to the Payment Method tab and locate the record using the External ID or Account Name.
4. Update the applicable fields on the Payment Method record, then click Save.

Deactivate a Payment Method

1. Navigate to Accounting Home > Setup > Master > Accounts.
2. Select a list view (other than the Recently Viewed list view).
3. On the list of Accounts page, click the account for which you want to update the payment method.
4. On the Account page, click Manage Stripe Payment Methods.
5. Scroll down to the Manage Existing Payment Methods section and, under the Action column, click Deactivate.
6. Click OK.
