Financial Reports Hub Overview

The Financial Reports Hub introduces a new approach to create and view financial reports using a dynamic grid with enhanced flexibility.  In the grid, users can manipulate rows and columns to view data by various dimensions (including GLAVs, Projects, Accounts and Products). Below are some common questions that come up when getting started with Financial Reports Hub.

Q: What reports are available in the Financial Reports Hub?

Q: How do I run a report?

Reports can be viewed once you complete the data refresh.

To see reports for the first time, highlight the report in the list, then click the View Report button. You can also create your own report using the existing Report Types by clicking the New Financial Report button. Watch this related video.

Q: How is the Financial Reports Hub different from the legacy financial reporter?

The new Financial Reports Hub provides a dynamic grid where users can change periods, dimensions, and groupings on the fly without rerunning the report - similar to working in Excel pivot tables. The current reporter, in contrast, generates static report files that must be regenerated after any changes.

Using the Financial Reports Hub, you can easily compare periods, quarters, or years side-by-side, by selecting multiple time periods in the filters panel and then grouping the time periods, such as Accounting Period, in the column grouping area. You can also compare different dimensions (like regions) simultaneously. You can also group data by dimensions like Account, Project, and Product.

The Financial Reports Hub does not require periods to be closed to run any reports.

The Financial Reports Hub has been engineered to produce the resulting reports much faster than the old reporter.  

Q: Is the legacy financial reporter being removed?

No. There are no immediate plans to sunset the legacy financial reporter.

Q: Which release is the Financial Reports Hub in?

This is in the Winter ‘26 release.

Q: What release should I be on so that my org can be upgraded to Winter ‘26?

We recommend being on the Summer ‘25 release so your org can be upgraded to Winter ‘26.

Q: What is the cost for the Financial Reports Hub?

There is no additional cost for Accounting Seed users for the Financial Reports Hub.

Q: Are there configurations for the Financial Reports Hub?

Yes, there are a few simple configuration steps. See Financial Reports Hub Setup.

Q: What permissions do I need to access Financial Reports Hub?

If you’re using our out-of-the-box permission sets and have permissions to access the existing Financial Reporter, you'll automatically have access to the Financial Reports Hub. If you’re using custom permission sets, you'll need to extend permissions to three objects: Financial Report Category, Financial Report Type, Financial Report Detail. and make the Financial Reports Hub tab visible.

Q: Do I need to select the Gross Margin, Other Income/Expense and EBITDA options for all my P&L GL accounts?

No, you only need to make selections based on what you would like to include in each section.

Q: How can I change the font size in my reports?

Font size can be changed on the Financial Report Settings tab.

Q: Where can I see the logo?  

Logo images are visible in PDF exports (PDF export will be included in a future release).

 

Financial Reports Data Manager

Q: What is a data refresh?  

The Financial Reports Hub shows near-time data, so it takes a snapshot of your financial data and stores it so reports can load quickly. This means that if you post a new journal entry, invoice, or any transaction to the General Ledger, the report won't automatically show that new transaction. You’ll need to refresh the data to update the report with your latest transactions.  

Q: Do I need to do a data refresh the first time I run a report?

Yes, you will need to run a data refresh so that your transactions can be processed to load reports quickly.  Select the associated report type and either run the data refresh immediately, or you can schedule it to run at a specific time.

Q: How long does data refresh take?

Typically, a few minutes, though this depends on the number of transactions. The exact timing will vary by organization.

 

Financial Reports Hub Report Grid

Q: What fields can I add to Report columns?

Each report category has a list of fields displayed on the Columns panel. These vary by report. For a complete list, click here.

Q: How can I create an Actual vs Budget report?

Create a new report. Use the Ledger filters (in the Report Grid Filters panel) to add Actual and Budget columns to the report and make sure you group the columns by both Ledger and a time period, such as Accounting Period, Accounting Quarter or Accounting Year.

Q: Can I compare information period over period and how would I do that?

Select the Accounting Period filters for the data you want displayed in the report, then add Accounting Period to the column grouping area of the report grid.

Q: How would I create a Quarter over Quarter report?

Select the Accounting Period filters for the data you want displayed in the report, then add Accounting Quarter to the column grouping area of the report grid.

Q: How would I create a Year over Year report?

Select the Accounting Period filters for the data you want displayed in the report, then add Accounting Year to the column grouping area of the report grid.

Q: How can I view dimensions as columns?

You can add the dimensions you want to display in your report to the column grouping area of the report grid.

Note: Pivot mode must be on to group by columns  

Q: Can I view dimensions as rows?

Yes. Drag and drop dimensions to the row grouping area of the report grid.

Q: Can I change the order of grouping? For example, Ledger > Region > Period?

Yes. Drag and drop the dimensions into the rows or columns grouping section in the order you want them to appear in the report.

Q: What is the “No rows to show” message in the grid, and what do I do about it?  

If you uncheck all Accounting Periods, or select a ledger without any posted transactions, you'll see the message, No Rows To Show in the grid area. If you select both a Transactional ledger and a Budget ledger and the Budget ledger doesn't have any data in it, then the results in the grid will only show the Transactional ledger's results.

Q: My Excel export shows amounts as $12345.6 instead of $12345.60.

If you export your report as ‘Raw Numbers’ Excel automatically cuts off the end zeros. You can amend this formatting in Excel to include the number of decimal places you would like.  

 

Financial Reports Hub Troubleshooting

Q: The Financial Reports Hub pages spin and do not load. How can I fix this?

Ensure that all setup steps have been completed and the data refresh step was also done. If you continue to see the spinner and the page does not load, it may be because you have more than 1M transactions.  To resolve this, create a ticket for Support to discuss enabling external storage.

Q: How can I resolve the OAuth Error I receive when trying to authorize the Accounting Seed Hub?

Ensure the user authorizing the AS Hub has the system permission “Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps”. For the full list of permissions, review the steps in the Permissions and Setup sections of the FRH Setup article.

Q: The AS Hub has to be re-authorized by a different user. How do I do this?

1. From Setup, search for "Connected Apps" in the Quick find box and then click on Connected Apps OAuth Usage.
2. For the Accounting Seed Hub row, click on the number in the User Count column.
3. For the user that should no longer authorize the AS Hub, and only for this user, click on the Revoke link.
4. Now the user that should authorize the AS Hub can proceed with the steps to authorize it.

Q: There is an error “Accounting Periods are missing Quarter and/or Year data” when I try to create a new Financial Report. How do I resolve this?

If you have not set up Quarters and Years, you will see this message:  
Accounting Periods are missing Quarter and/or Year data. Click Refresh Accounting periods to populate this data. To resolve this:

Click the Refresh Accounting Periods button. This populates the Quarter and Year fields on your periods.

A success message is displayed when the refresh is successful.

Review the Quarter and Year information populated by navigating to your Accounting Periods list view. You may need to add the Quarter and Year fields to your list view. See Refresh Accounting Periods for more information.

Q: I am unable to use Pivot mode with the General Ledger report.

Pivot-mode is not currently supported for the GL report. This functionality will be included in a future release.

Q: How do I delete a report I created?

1. Click in the App Launcher Search box, then type Details. 
2. Select Financial Report Details. 
3. On the list view select the report to delete. 
4. Do either of the following: 
   • Click the Report to open it, then click the Delete button 
   • Click the in-row drop-down and select Delete. 
5. Click Delete to confirm. 

       Note: If a report is accidentally deleted, it can be restored from the Recycle Bin (Type Recycle Bin in the App Launcher search box).

Q: There is an error on the Financial Reports tab “Error retrieving data. The Grid has not been initialized. Please contact your administrator.”. How do I resolve this?

You'll need to Enable the Session settings. Follow the steps below:

1. 1. Navigate to Setup and search for Session Settings.
   2. On the Session Settings screen, find and select the checkbox next to Use Lightning Web Security for Lightning web components and Aura components.
   3. Click Save.
