When Billing balance goes to $0, Opportunity Stage is set to Closed

When a Billing has a credit memo applied and goes to a $0 balance, and is linked to an Oppty, the Opportunity's Stage is getting set to Closed. We don't want this to happen as we have custom Stages and we don't want Accounting Seed to edit the Stage or anything on the Oppty for that matter.

I can't figure out how the Stage is getting changed. Is there a configuration somewhere that can be changed to prevent this?

  Hi Charles, I can't test it at the moment, but I do ot think this is an out of the box setting.  Have you checked process builders, work flow rules and flows to make sure it's not being set in one of those places? Or custom apex if it's not there.  The 'trigger' would proably be on the BCR or Billing record.

  I haven't been able to find any Flow, PB, workflow, or APEX code that would be doing this update to the Oppty Stage.

  Too bad there is not a "Where is this used?" button for standard fields like "Stage".

  Any other ideas?

  Run a debug log with everything set to finer to see if you can catch where it's setting that value?

  I realized the Billing getting fully credit memo'ed causes the Sales Order status to change. When that change happened, we do have custom automation to update the Oppty Stage from the SO Status. But we don't want the Sales Order status to change due to the Billing, since we want the Sales Order status only set from another system.

  Is there any way to change that configuration to prevent Billings from updating Sales Order status?
