Deleting journal entries
We need to reverse/delete posted journal entries. As an Accountant, I am VERY hesitant to 'delete' anything in the system. My question is two fold:
- is there a 'reverse entry' function in AS?
-if not, when you DELETE an entry, is there any trail left afterward? AND in doing so, it completely deletes all sides of the entry, yes?

Hi Alise,
There is a button that's available to add to the Journal Entry Layout (if it isn't already on your layout) called "Reverse Clone w/Lines" that will create a reversing entry which you can post into whichever open period you want.

If you do delete the Journal Entry, you will have to unpost it first, which would delete all credits and debits, and then once the record is deleted it leaves no paper trail. If you wish to maintain the history, then a reversing entry is recommended.
