Build a manufactured product
I am unable to build a manufactured product. The product is set up as Inventory Type, "Manufactured". There are sufficient product parts of the component products.
Yet when I try to Build, it says "Not enough inventory exists to perform a build". Why is that?

Hi Donal,
Are you on the newest versin of Accounting Seed with the build walkthrough screens like this:
https://support.accountingseed.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026030873-Build-Manufactured-Product
Or an older version that's like this:

That may be the answer -- see attached screen shot. The "manufactured" product doesn't appear in the list below -- the items below are the "component" items. I created a PO for these items and received them into Warehouse "Main".
I don't see how to assign a product to a warehouse without actually receiving it into Inventory. But I dont want to do that with a "manufactured" product, do I?
BTW, I am taking the LMS certification, so I am trying to complete the exercises at the end of each section.

Can you add the quantity available to the report? are those all the component parts of your manufactured product? Are the quantities on your product parts recordes correct? (Those are the records that dictate how many of each component are required to create the manufactured product). How many of the manufactured item are you trying to create? if you set the qty to 1 in this screen, does it still tell you there is not enough inventory?
If you're not sure about hte product parts, you could post a screenshot of the product parts related list on the manufactured product.

So, here is the report with the quantities available. I'm manufacturing 2 different products, with a total of 10 for each product. 1 manuf. product has the CPU, Chassis & Storage as components. The other product has the Computer Base, Monitor, Keyboard & Mouse as components. And yes, I did try to change the Qty to Build value to "1" instead of "10" & that didnt work.
If you are available on Monday, perhaps we could connect on this.

Hi Donal,
I'd be happy to meet with you if you like, although if you're relatively sure that all the setup pieces are correct - and so far (aside from the Product Parts, which we have not reviewed) it seems like they are, I would probably log a case with Acocunting Seed to see what they have to say.
