Open/Close multiple Accounting Periods with one request

Ideally, you never have to open or close more than a single period at a time.  But inevitably you find something you need to fix in a prior period.

It would be really great if there was an interface where you could specify the period you want to open (or close) through and let Salesforce manage the sequential requests instead of having to open/close each period individually and wait for the notification that that period was done before the next one can start.

  Rebecca, I have developed a simple Visual Workflow that does just that. Feel free to contact me so I can set you up with it.

  EDIT: My Visual Workflow has been uploaded as an unmanaged package here: https://login.salesforce.com/packaging/installPackage.apexp?p0=04tG00000003zxE. This is the first time I've done this, so it's possible that there's kinks to it. Feel free to leave feedback!

  It is a little haphazard in design; since it works independently of Accounting Seed's native processing, you will need to wait for each processing job to finish (indicated by a job completion email) before proceeding to each period in the wizard. But, at least you don't have to go to each individual period's detail view.

   

  This flow should work in any Accounting Seed implementation, but every org is different. Feel free to redesign to fit your needs!

  I agree with Rebecca - this would be a great feature (for hopefully very occasional use.)
