In the new BDC
can someone define what is a "Sourced Transaction". It is mentioned often in the New BDC ASU tutorials.
When there is a bank transaction in the unmatched section and you complete the missing information and then select "Add", does that become a sourced transaction that then becomes a "Posting Level" event into the G/S

What if there clearly is a source record in cash receipts, BUT BDC for some reason can't find it's match? I have several cash receipts for one customer that are exactly the same aside from the dollar amounts. Sometimes BDC is able to recommend matches, and then other times it doesn't think a match exists. It doesn't make sense because nothing else has changed on what data is provided on the source record and what data is on the record from the bank. Why do I have random records that just won't match up for no reason? This is Magnolia

Hi Stefanie,
How closely do the bank dates match to the transaction date? In the BDC settings you can specify the number of days within which it's allowed to find a match for both receipts and disbursements. I think default it might be ~5 for receipts/deposits and ~30 for disbursements. It may be that you need to expand one or both of those numbers if your transactions regularly take longer to clear.

Source transactions are potential matches for bank transactions imported from BDC based solely on 2 criteria:
1. Source transaction amount = bank transaction amount (exactly)
2. Source transaction date is within a +/- days range of bank transaction dateRebecca is correct that you can change those default date ranges in BDC settings to narrow or expand the possible matches.
