Inventory of scrap parts

We often have scrap or excess parts from repair jobs that have been expensed to a former work order that we would like to keep track of with a $0 dollar book value.  Do you have any suggestions on how we can do this?  We'd like to leave the part as consumed on the original work order, but keep track of what we have to use on future jobs and be able to have the inventory system recognize that we have them and assign them to future work orders.

  Hi Jeanae,

  What if you setup a warehouse and location named "Scraps" and then processed an inbound inventory movement with a type of non-accounting? This would track available quantity without any cost.
