Overview
To improve usability and better organize Accounting information within the Lightning Experience, Lightning Record Pages across the Accounting Seed application have been redesigned. This includes the use of enhanced related lists, tabs, button visibility and other Lightning components. You can easily access the information you need by navigating through key tabs on the record and review the related lists applicable to that tab. This enhancement has impacted all the Accounting Seed custom objects.
The Enhanced Lightning Record Pages are based on the Lightning “Grouped Header and One Region” template. Each record page has been visually updated for ease of navigation and revolves around the use of tabs and Salesforce’s new Enhanced Related Lists. The Highlights Panel displays up to ten buttons and each record page will display the following standard tabs:
- Details
- Notes & Files
- All Activities
Additional tabs (non-standard tabs) will vary based on the type of record you are viewing.
Record Page Comparison
Below is a comparison of the Billing record showing the difference between the pre Iris Lightning Record Page and the Enhanced Lightning Record Page.
Pre Iris Lightning Record Page for a Billing
The Billing Pre Iris Lightning Record Page is based on the Lightning “Header and Left Sidebar” template. It includes Related List Quick Links and the page is divided in quadrants. The record detail is on the left with the related lists on the right. Each related list can display only up to four (4) fields of data.
Enhanced Lightning Record Page for a Billing
Standard Tabs
The Enhanced Lightning Record Page for a Billing will display the following standard tabs:
- Details
- Notes & Files
- All Activities
Details Tab
The Details tab will always display the following components:
- Record Detail
- Lines Related List (if any)
- Transactions Related List (if any)
- Approval History Related List (if applicable)
- Object History Related List
The Detail Tab has been enhanced with the following features:
- Each section in the Record Detail can be collapsed or expanded. In the example below, the Date Information has been expanded and the remaining sections have been collapsed.
- The related lists have been configured to take advantage of Salesforce’s new Enhanced Related List type. Features include:
- The ability to display up to ten fields as columns.
- Columns can be resized and sorted.
- Text can be wrapped within a column.
- Mass actions can be performed.
Notes & Files
The Notes & Files tab will display two related lists. Both related lists will display any files saved to the record. However, you can also use the New Note button to add a note to the Notes & Attachments related list. The Notes & Files tab will always display the following components:
- Files Related List
- Notes & Attachments Related List
All Activities
The All Activities tab has two sub-tabs that displays the record activity in two different views. The Activity sub-tab displays your activity on a timeline (see image below) and the Open Activity sub-tab displays open and past activities as related lists. The Activities tab will always display the following components:
- Activities
- Open Activity Related List
- Activity History Related List

Non-Standard Tabs
As stated, additional tabs (non-standard tabs) vary based on the type of record you are viewing. In this example, we are reviewing the non-standard tabs that are specific to a Billing including:
- Applied To
- Amortization
- Aging History
Applied To
The Applied To tab will display three (3) related lists that show what is applied to the Billing.
Amortization
The Amortization tab will display the Amortized Revenue related list.
Aging History
The Aging History tab will display the Billing Aging History related list.
