Overview
Accounting Seed includes several technologies to assist you and your team within communication and collaboration in the back office. This article summarizes some of the commonly used communication technologies in the app.
Log calls and verbal communications
You can log a call or conversation with a coworker, customer, vendor, or community user with regards to a data record by clicking Log a Call. This will track your conversation via an activity record. This record can also be set to inform any other users of important verbal communications that took place with regards to the data.
Creating and assigning tasks
A task will instruct another user to take a specific action with regards to a data record. When you log a task, you will select a user and outline the actions needed. When saved, the user will also get an email alert in addition to having the task assigned to him or her. An open task will show under the Next steps section of the activity component. When a user marks a task as completed it will transition from the next steps to the past activities section in the activity history under the data record.
Sending emails
Emails can be sent directly from Salesforce or copied in using a Salesforce email integration. Sending an email directly from a data record creates an audit trail of communications emailed regarding the data in the Past Activities section.
Attaching Files
Files can be easily uploaded or drag and dropped from your desktop to a specific data record. This provides connected backup stored with your data.
Notes
Notes can be added to any data record by clicking the New Note button. Notes can be used to communicate decisions, significant events, and circumstances with regards to the data record.
Follow records
Records can be followed by clicking the Follow button in the menu bar. If you are already following a record the button will display a checkmark and the text "Following." Following a record will push any updates on chatter to you as they happen.
Chatter Communications
All data records with Chatter can be liked or commented on. Also if you @mention a specific user they will get an email alert with the direct message you send them. This is used for internal communications and conversations on data. All the conversations are captured within the system.
