Overview
Remote Site Settings is a security feature in Salesforce, which provides the ability for external systems or web services to integrate with Salesforce. These settings work similar to a whitelist to establish secure links between Salesforce and outside websites or servers, which allows Salesforce to safely connect with approved URLs. The approved URLs must be registered on the Remote Site Settings page in Salesforce. This page is accessible by clicking the Gear icon, selecting Setup, and entering Remote Site Settings in the Quick Find textbox.
