Overview
This FAQ / Troubleshooting Guide is designed to help answer frequently asked questions about Accounting Seed Financial Analytics and to also assist with some troubleshooting suggestions to diagnose and resolve common issues that you may encounter.
Setup and Configuration
How do I set up my App? |
|
What should I do if I receive an "Application Error" in the App Creation? |
If you are receiving an "Application Error" in the App Creation and your Salesforce org is single currency, do the following:
Note: The rationale to activate this checkbox is because Accounting Seed Financial Analytics uses the Currency Type object, which is only available in orgs that have Activate Multiple Currencies enabled. |
Can I create a single Dashboard without creating the App? |
No. You can only create all Dashboards, which will reside in your App using the Accounting Seed Financial Analytics template. While you have to create all Dashboards, once they are created, you can simply delete the ones that you do not plan to use. |
Will my App be upgraded when I upgrade the package? |
Yes, your App will be available for update when you upgrade the package on your org. |
How do I check which version of the template I am currently using? |
|
How do I check the progress of my App Creation? |
There are two ways to track your App install progress:
|
Data Pulling & Recipes
Is Financial Data automatically synched to the Financial Dashboards? |
No, you need to run recipes on demand to view your newly added data. |
After the App creation, do I need to run recipes again? |
Not required. When you create the App using the Accounting Seed Financial Analytics template, the recipes will be created and run for the first time. |
I have more than one App. Can I just run recipes for one and get data for all Apps? |
No. Recipes are run per App, and you will have the recipe prefixed with each App name, should you need to run it on demand. Otherwise, it is better to schedule your recipes to run automatically. |
How do I run the recipes on demand? |
|
Do I need to run all recipes every time I add new data? |
Yes, except for the "FinancialTransactionArchiveData" recipe. This one is only required when you have archived a period. Additionally, the AcctSeed__Transaction_Archive__b recipe would need to be run ONLY if you have archived periods. |
What do I need to run if I have recently archived a period? |
You will be required to run a few extra steps before you can view data that is related to an archived period. First you will need to run a full sync on AcctSeed__Transaction_Archive__b (big object). This is usually done when you run a sync on SFDC_LOCAL. However, to run it exclusively, use the steps below.
|
What should I do if I added some data to my org and it does not display in the Dashboards? |
Verify that the records are posted and have transactional data. If this has already been performed, verify that the full sync on SFDC_LOCAL ran as scheduled or you ran it on demand before checking. If not, follow the steps below.
|
Dashboard
Can I navigate back to the source record from a Transaction Listing? |
Yes, you can. From the Source column, on the row that has the record that you want to view, click the Actions drop-down list, and then click Open Record. In the sample screen below the BCR-00753 source record would open in a separate browser tab. Note: This can even been done on source records that are in archived periods. |
Can I track data for a chart? |
Yes. This can be accomplished using the Notification feature that is available on a chart.
|
Are configured filters carried over when I switch between the pages? |
Yes, with the exception of the Ledger filter. You will need to select the Ledger when you switch to the other page. |
Are the Trending charts available to view on a day-to-day trend? |
You will not be able to see this data day by day. However, you should select a filter that filters on a day-to-day basis. That way, the data will be aggregated into the relevant Accounting Period, based upon your filter selection. |
Can I view summary data for more than one Accounting Period? |
No, Accounting Period on the summary pages is a single selection from the drop-down list and will default to the current Accounting Period. |
Is it possible to export a Transaction Listing? |
Yes. You can export a Transaction Listing into an Excel spreadsheet or a CSV file.
|
Is it possible to save a particular configuration for a Dashboard? |
If you have filters set up, you can save this configuration to avoid configuring these same filters every time.
|
Can I add tables on the Financial Analytics Dashboards other than the existing charts? |
Yes, you can add a new table to any of the out of the box Dashboards. |
Charts
Why am I not seeing data for a specific chart for which I have relevant data in Accounting Seed? |
If the "No Results Found" or the "Can't display this widget" message displays, verify that data exists, and that the correct Ledger is selected on the Global Filters. After this information has been verified, you might need to run the sync on SFDC_LOCAL again, and then run the TransactionArchiveExtration dataflow. After that, run the recipes again. After this process, if the data still does not display, do the following:
|
I have data on Revenue by State. Why am I not seeing this data? |
This chart is populated based upon the Billing State field on the Account record, but not on the Billing record itself. Ensure that the Account record has the Billing State field populated. Then, rerun the recipes. |
Miscellaneous
Will Financial Analytics allow me to do Forecasting for the data that I have in Accounting Seed? |
Yes, this requires implementation effort. Financial Analytics paves the way for this to happen. |
